Pocahontas Paper Doll Craft With Printable Template

Disney princess fans are going to love this easy adorable Pocahontas paper doll craft! It is perfect for an afternoon craft session to pair with a classic favourite Disney cartoon. Make them with a friend, or make one to share with a friend, for an instant good time!

Paper crafts are some of my favourites. It is amazing what you can create with simple supplies that can be found around the house, like paper, glue, and markers. Paper crafts are also perfect for kids or adults, and this Pocahontas craft is no exception. It includes a free printable paper doll with a template to make this a do-able project for crafters of all skill levels. 

What Are Paper Dolls

The best construction paper crafts are paper doll crafts. This paper craft doll making is fun and easy to play with after they are done. Paper dolls are superior to any store-bought dolls in some ways. Although they are not always better, they often make a very good alternative to spending the money on dolls that may be longer-lasting and more realistic. The fun of a princess paper doll craft comes in stages. To begin with, you get to create the doll! Creating your own paper doll can be done with a PDF template or with a completely limitless imagination. Templates are ideal if you want to make a paper doll that you recognize from a cartoon or a Disney movie like Pocahontas.

Creativity And Imagination

The art of a paper doll craft is creativity at work; however, what kids can do with their paper dolls after they are made shows their imagination. Both creativity and imagination are important. You can have one without the other, but when children use both, they open up all kinds of possibilities for their future. Pocahontas Paper Doll Craft

Younger kids can follow the template and instructions and make a perfect little paper princess doll. Tweens and teens might want to add some additional details and embellishments. Regardless of the age of the crafter, they are going to love making these! You might want to print a few extra templates to have on hand for rainy days. This also makes a great way to add art to the homeschool day, even if you aren’t a master crafter; as the paper doll template makes this craft come together with ease.

List of Craft Supplies

1. Coloured craft papers – black, blue, cream ( 2 different shades), pink, and light brown
2. Craft glue
3. Black marker pen
4. Pencil
5. Scissors
6. Free printable template

Paper Doll to Cut Out

Step 1: Select coloured craft papers as per the colours of the skin tone, dress, and accessories of Pocahontas. Trace the body base on light brown coloured paper, the dress patterns on cream (2 different shades) coloured papers, the necklace on blue, the strip on dark brown, the 2 small circles on pink, and the hair on black coloured paper. Cut out the traced patterns.

Step 2: Cut a slit along the marked lines on the hair pattern.

Step 3: Slide the top end of the head part through the slit from the bottom side of the hair. Apply glue to fix the head and the hair together.

Step 4: Attach the fringed parts of the dress on the main dress pattern. Attach one of the fringed patterns along the bottom side and the other along the top side of the dress.

Step 5: Attach the dress on the Pocahontas paper doll properly. Attach the small brown strip along the middle of the dress horizontally.

Step 6: Add the necklace on the neck and the pink blush cutouts on the cheeks. Use a black marker pen to draw the eyes, nose, and mouth of the paper Pocahontas doll.
