Raddish is a cooking club with themes and inspiration to encourage kids to be curious and competent in the kitchen. Younger children can work alongside a supervising adult while tweens on up can make full meals independently. For those of us socially distancing and trying to give our kids enriching, meaningful life skills, the kits from Raddish are genius. It is a culinary lesson and mealtime solution all-in-one. Raddish tries to make cooking and sharing a meal fun for the whole family.
What You Get with Raddish
Raddish monthly packages include
- 3 detailed recipe cards
- Kitchen tool – tongs, whisk, or other useful piece of equipment
- Collectibles — a colorful apron patch that can iron-on to a child's apron to show progress
- Complete Grocery List – sorry parents, no food is included!
July's kit theme is “Ticket to Tokyo” so the included materials teach about sushi rolling, yakisoba noodles, and teriyaki chicken. The coordinated kitchen tool is a sushi mat and chopsticks.

What we like about Raddish
Created by chefs and educators, it is immediately clear that Raddish has kids in mind every step of the way. The materials are bright and well-organized. I love the idea (and reality!) of my children developing as competent cooks. The recipes are kid-friendly while also pushing their taste buds just a bit outside their comfort zones. The price point is reasonable, and getting stuff in the mail is always fun!
What we don't like about Raddish
The only challenge I have with the kits is that the responsibility falls back on me to get all the food items. Sadly, during these Covid-19 pandemic days, that is not trivial.
What Raddish Costs
The monthly cost for Raddish cooking kit subscriptions is $20-$25 depending on whether you purchase them individually or in bulk. If you buy in increments of six months, the apron (for those commemorative patches) is included for free. Siblings are an additional $5 and include a second patch and kitchen tool.
