Weekend Entertainment: 24 April 2020 (and a few Mother’s Day gift ideas!)
Mother’s Day is just over two weeks away, so I thought I might share a few gift ideas this week!
Mother’s Day gift ideas…
Charlotte Mason Mother Bags, Mugs, and Prints The perfect little mug, bag, or wall print for the Charlotte Mason mom in your life!
Anna Vance Homeschool Planner I’ve mentioned these before but they are worth mentioning again and again. They’re not only handmade beautifully, but are also wonderful keepsakes of the homeschool year. Each planner contains a section for every child in your household (personalized with their name!) in which to record a little snapshot of where they are in their educational journey including what their hopes and goals are for the year. After every month, there’s a mother culture section to keep track of mom’s goals, accomplishments, wishes, and books read. And the end contains checklists, reading lists, attendance charts, and any other chart you could possibly think of. Don’t need all those charts? Customize the planner to fit your needs! This would be a beautiful gift for any homeschooling mom!
Plant Therapy Best Mom Ever Set The perfect little set to pamper the essential oil lover in your life! The set includes an exclusive essential oil blend, body oil, body butter, sugar scrub, comfy socks, enamel pin, microfiber towel, and a card!
Dear Mushka, Jewelry Lovely, elegant, and minimalist jewelry! (Get $5 off with my link!)

The Mediocre Purist “In coming to terms with my own weakness, I can attest to the truth of this statement from Mrs. Gwynne: ‘How differently does the frankly mediocre person regard life! To him the world is a garden full of beauty, sweetness and satisfaction’ (Gwynne, 1901, p. 780). There are few things more exciting to me right now than an exceptional narration or an uninterrupted math lesson. I (usually) cheerfully accept the limitations of my life as it is now. There are some things I will get better at over time, such as painting, time management, and housekeeping; but there are some things that I will never be good at, like singing. Still, these things are worth doing for the sake of themselves. And they are worth doing badly.”
Keeping Your Head Above Water: Homeschooling in Survival Mode Written ten years ago, but still true, especially right now.
DIY Pressed Flower (Botanical) Bookmarks This is a simple but beautiful gift idea for children and she even offers gorgeous, downloadable templates with hand-lettered Bible verses you can use as well.
10 Easy Steps to Turn Any Recipe Into a Real Food Recipe These are pretty simple but can make a big difference in how you eat.
Audible Stories Audible is offering quite a few books (including all of the Harry Potter series) free!
(And just a reminder that Beautiful Feet Books is still offering FREE SHIPPING all through April!)

Charlotte Mason Homeschool: Picture Study This week I introduced a series I’ll be offering on Charlotte Mason picture study that I hope will assist with these struggles. I’d like to emphasize the importance of including it, alleviate fears that you have to know a lot about art (you don’t!), and lay out a way to do it that is simple, easy to implement, and comes straight from Charlotte Mason’s ideas.
(2018) Grand Canyon, Tumacácori, and Saguaro Junior Ranger Adventures Once we get through all of this quarantine stuff, I highly recommend a trip to southern Arizona for some National Park fun!
(2017) Charlotte Mason Picture Study Aid: Henry Ossawa Tanner One of my very favorite 19th-century artists. When i first saw his Annunciation, I fell in love with it right away.
